Synopsis
In the small city of Uhwa, Seung-beom Korean Medicine Clinic attracts not only the sick, but also the restless dead. When director Seung-beom encounters a female ghost in a red wedding hanbok, she offers him a deal: help her fulfil her dying wish of seeing her father, and she will protect his clinic from the Mountain God’s wrath.
Meanwhile, Uhwa’s mayor, Ki Young-mun, is pushing ahead with a massive resort development backed by corporate interests. He recruits Seung-beom to help win over public opinion, and Seung-beom, sensing a business opportunity, agrees. But when the ghost is captured by the Mountain God’s minions, Seung-beom rushes to save her — only to receive a terrifying ultimatum: stop the resort, or face the consequences. Forced to join the opposition, Seung-beom works with local residents to halt the project, and the discovery of an endangered plant species may be their only hope. But Ki Young-mun, enraged that Seung-beom has derailed his plans, surrenders his soul to a malevolent spirit and sets out to kill him…
Book Introduction
Following the success of The Suspicious Oriental Clinic — the #1 Korean novel at major bookstores in 2024, #1 on audiobook platform Welaaa, and sold in six countries — the second volume takes the series to a larger scale.
Where the first book fused occult comedy with K-healing fiction, The Suspicious Hanjiwon 2 expands into full-fledged fantasy, powered by the Mountain God’s deadly threat and a high-stakes battle over resort development. Fast-paced, witty, and richly entertaining, the sequel places a more active, dynamic Seung-beom at the heart of the action.
